About Llanfechain

Llanfechain has a small, yet busy community. There is Community Hall, where local groups meet; a community shop, supported and run by people of the village, a pub; the Plas yn Dinas, a late 17th century building which was once used as a court house and the historic St Garmons’ Church, a Norman church, where Saint Garmon preached from the Mount of the churchyard in the 9th century.

The village also has playing field which hosts various events, including the Llanfechain football team and the Llanfechain Show, held every year on  August bank holiday Monday which includes the horticulture show, entertainment, crafts, live music and a great family day out.

The Primary School, safely situated in the centre of the village, is well attended; secondary schools are within easy reach. There are many older properties and part of the village is designated a conservation area. The surrounding community area is essentially agricultural with some associated local businesses.

It is a good place to live!
