The Cheese and Wine evening was very enjoyable with an excellent presentation on how the gardens at Chirk Castle were established and how they continue to evolve, given by David Lock, the Head Gardener. He also brought along samples of flowers currently in bloom for the audience to touch and smell. It finished with a great buffet which unfortunately the relatively poor attendance failed to do justice to, and a great deal of food was left over. Considering the meagre price of tickets to support the Village Show, and the effort put in to hold the event, where was everybody????

If anybody has other ideas for events that will bring in funds for the Show and can help in the organisation then please contact any member of the committee on Show Day, or before, to ensure that this year's Show won't be the last!
